Gray Adds The Wow Factor
THE MANY SHADES OF GRAY
Gray Is The Modern Neutral
When my son and daughter-and-law purchased their new home a little while back, they wanted to change out the paint color on the 'builder beige' walls for something with a little more 'Wow' effect. Therefore, we went with the grays.
I love the way the gray makes the colorful accessories in the room really pop. We incorporated decorative accessories, rugs, and throw pillows in the design that were in vibrant colors of mustard yellow, teal blues, corals, and whites. The color gray is considered a neutral because you can pretty much use it with any color scheme.
I suggested different hues of gray to paint the walls in the main areas of the home. This would give more emphasis to some of the walls. The dining room has a deep charcoal gray paint color, while the living room has the really soft light gray color paint. In the open floor plan foyer, we used the deep charcoal gray only on one large feature wall. The kitchen/breakfast area, master bedroom, and other areas were painted with a medium shade of gray.

The mustard yellow and teal blue accessories looks great with the gray color.
